A note from the author...
Dear Reader,
As well as simply having fun, the reason for bringing the Aegean Dream Resort to life was to promote my new novel Deep Blue Lies. Everything you’ve seen here – and in the physical collector boxes – is connected to the book. I hope it brings you deeper into the story, but there’s no spoilers, the mystery at the book’s heart is quite safe.
I’m a new author to many of you, yet I’ve also seen names who have followed me through all fifteen of my previous books – and I want to thank each and every one of you for playing along. I wanted to create a bit of buzz and if it worked, it’s only because of what you did: commenting, sharing, tagging your friends… Of course, I’m not sure yet if it has worked, but either way I’ve had a ball. And despite being new to Bookstagram and BookTok, I’ve felt incredibly welcomed. People say social media is a terrible place, but clearly that’s not always true.
And maybe all this has made you curious about the book itself? Deep Blue Lies follows Ava Whitaker, whose life falls apart when she’s kicked out of medical school and dumped by her boyfriend. But the real problem isn’t her future – it’s in her past.
She was born on the Greek island of Alythos, where her mother once worked at the Aegean Dream Resort slinging cocktails at the poolside bar. Yet her mother has never spoken about that time, or about the sudden way she left, or about the question that’s haunted Ava her whole life: Who was her father?
I like to say it’s like The White Lotus, only the resort is abandoned, and part of the mystery is finding out what happened there to leave it in ruins. It’s out now on paperback, kindle and KU and on audio, with the wonderful Katie Villa narrating.
Thank you again for being part of this journey, for your support, and most of all for your love of books. To be honest I probably would keep writing even without readers, but it wouldn’t be so much fun. I’d love it if you give Deep Blue Lies a try. And I hope to see you again for the next adventure!
