The Trap is the (new) name for the second book in the Detective Erica Sands (formerly Stone) series which began just a few days ago (also last year) with the release (re-release) of The Cove.
Just in case that needs some clarification. I wrote and published The Cove a while back, but when I signed a publishing deal with Storm, they wanted to re-publish it, along with future books in the series. One tweak we made was the renaming of the main character from Erica Stone to Erica Sands, because Storm already publish another major series with a character named Stone. I also had been provisionally calling book two The Pool – but on the cover images that final ‘l’ tended to disappear, with unfortunate consequences. Hence, The Trap is now available to pre-order, and is out this October. Thank you for your patience!
I’m actually pretty happy with how this book has come out, and quite keen to explore further where the story might go. I’m going to be spending my August driving back to the UK, via a week’s camping in France, and pondering possible plotlines for this series, and other standalone books – ready to hit the keyboard all refreshed in September. I’ll try to find the time to write a proper update sometime before that though. In the meantime, thanks again for all the best wishes regarding our hospital adventures. Maria and I are both recuperating slowly but making good progress.
